About K-Wild

St. David's Episcopal Preschool has developed a unique kindergarten enrichment program,
K-WILD.  Kindergarten Wonder, Investigate, Learn and Discover allows children to cultivate their natural inquisitive spirit and love for all things outdoors.

K-WILD is designed to complement the Virginia Kindergarten Standards of Learning. Children spend the school year outdoors in all except the most extreme weather. During K-WILD, children will wonder about identifying birds, discover what lives in the meadow and investigate what worms do to the soil. In our classroom, we do further research to learn all about the environment around us. For example, in the inaugural 2012-2013 program, the children observed the full life-cycle of a pumpkin and noted year long changes to their adopted  tree.

Led by teachers dedicated to outdoor learning and environmental education, K-WILD is the perfect hands-on enrichment program that complements a child's typical indoor Kindergarten classroom day.

  2. My little guy enjoyed the first day yesterday so much that today he was very concerned that we 'make it on time' to K-Wild today! We are very excited about this program.
    Thanks!

  3. Love, love, love KWild!
Was quite a treat this morning when one of mine taught daddy how to use a hammer and nail to fix a book shelf. One more great skill KWild is putting to practice! Thank you!
