March is acting like a LION!

March 18 - 21, 2014
March is holding on like a lion but K-WILD continues to explore and learn outdoors.
This week we had a St. Patrick's Day hunt  and went on a hike looking for signs of spring.

Raccoons

Who's been leaving footprints on our tables when we are gone?
Who's been making tracks on our nature path?
Raccoons!

K-WILD spent today learning all about raccoons.

Let's investigate a raccoon pelt.

Let's learn about raccoon scat and footprints.

This is a raccoon skull. Look at the teeth.
 A raccoon is an omnivore!

Let's make a raccoon to take home.

Time to play!

It's still winter! March 2014.

Winter keeps holding on during the first week of March. Our latest March 4th snow storm kept the children home at the beginning of the week. When we returned to K-Wild on Thursday and Friday, we were excited to get back outside.  K-Wild continues to study about animal habitats, in particular, the woodlands. We are fortunate to catch a glimpse of many different animals.
  What animal could it be?

 scat?  From what animal?
Don't worry, it's only rubber.

 Let's not forget the birds.

 Who's been here?
raccoon?

Look at these tracks!

Thank you for our new bird feeder!
Looks like a deer has been here!
